Monocle — White Dot
We are huge fans of Monocle magazine, so imagine our excitement when journalist Nathalie Savaricas invited us to be part of a feature in Monocle's The Consultants series. In The Consultants, Monocle identifies gaps in local markets and examines hypothetical business scenarios in the unique Monocle way. In our case, we were invited to create the branding for a hypothetical luxury cruise company that operates in the Greek isles and offers a much-needed high-end alternative to existing commercial cruise experiences. We chose the name White Dot for this brand, inspired by the blinding white glare one sees when sailing the summer seas. The whole branding concept and the colour palette we chose were inspired by the purity and warm light of the Greek sun. A complete product range for White Dot was designed including deck towels, fluffy blankets, mugs, original Greek souvenirs, packaging for local products and more. For the illustrations we were inspired by Greek myths and history, like for example an ancient coin from Serifos that depicts a frog.
