Kathleen Marie Ryan

For the new website of American painter Kathleen Marie Ryan, we followed a pared back design approach in order to allow her work to come to the forefront. The paintings themselves, rich in texture and colour, become the focal point of the entire design, allowing them to claim the entire screen and be constantly present in every scroll. All other elements are discreet, yet imbued with elegance and sophistication, as seen in the choice of fonts and the subtle animations. The website navigation is also extremely straightforward, focusing again on the work and the artist's creative vision. A special section on the homepage organises available canvases by colour, allowing collectors to choose the appropriate work for their space. The overall user experience is one of smooth flow and calmness, shifting the focus to the richness and intensity of the artworks.
