A Magic Cabinet online platform
If you had a magic cabinet in your house, what kind of secret treasures would it hold? When hospitality entrepreneur, writer and co-founder of The Huffington Post Greece, Eugenia Chandris, approached us to design her new retail and editorial platform, we knew right along that it would be a magical creative journey indeed. The brief for A Magic Cabinet included a lot of childhood memories, experiences, a tasteful eye for authenticity and a deep love for everything good that comes out of Greek land and hands. The challenge was to strike the ideal balance between e-shop and editorial functions on a single page, and create a complementary relationship between products and content.
All stories on the platform are written by Mrs Chandris and her friends, and share vivid memories and unique stories from special places and products all around Greece and beyond. We focused on photography and elegant micro-animations to bring the emotional aspect of A Magic Cabinet to life, and created a fluid user experience that transitions seamlessly from reading and viewing content to browsing products and shopping. The project also included the creation of the brand's identity, for which we designed an ornate logo that reflects the brand's sensibility, attention to detail and appreciation for time-honoured values.
